Homemade Bisquick
Homemade Bisquick

Homemade Bisquick is less expensive and more wholesome than store bought!
(Get the Homemade Bisquick recipe here)

Homemade Bisquick costs $.12 a serving vs. $.14 store-bought.

Homemade Bisquick has four ingredients and NO chemicals!  Store bought has seven ingredients, and FOUR OF THEM ARE CHEMICALS!

Homemade Cost

Flour $.09 per cup x 10 cups =$.90
Baking powder $.40 per 1/3 cup= $.40
Salt $.01 per teaspoon x4 teaspoons= $.04
Coconut oil $1.60 per cup x2 cups= $3.20
Total =$4.54
Serving size 1/3 cup mix
37.5 servings
$4.54/37.5 =$.12 per serving

Store-Bought Cost

20 oz (1 lb 4 oz) box Bisquick =$1.99
Serving size 1/3 cup mix
14 servings
$1.99/14 =$.14 per serving

Homemade Ingredients

Unbleached flour
Coconut oil
Baking powder
Salt

Store-Bought Ingredients

Bleached flour
Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/or Cottonseed oil
Baking soda
Sodium aluminum phosphate
Monocalcium phosphate
Dextrose
Salt

"Partially Hydrogenated" means chemicals have been added to oils to make them solid.  Sodium aluminum phosphate and Monocalcium phosphate are leavening agents (to make it rise), but I've never seen it in stores!  These are chemicals and so is Dextrose!

Choose the chemical-free option!  Homemade is best!
