This Homemade Shake ‘n Bake is so easy and is spot on; it tastes exactly like the store bought version!

This recipe make the equivalent of 1 box of store bought Shake ‘n Bake, which has 2 pouches for 2 meals.

Homemade Shake ‘n Bake

1 cup breadcrumbs
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon oil (vegetable or canola)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black ground pepper

1.  Mix all ingredients in a food processor until incorporated and mixture is fine and uniform in texture.  Divide mixture evenly between 2 quart-sized zipper-seal freezer bags. Store in pantry or cabinet until ready to use.

To use:

1.  Heat oven to 425°.  Moisten 4 to 8 (1/2-inch thick) bone-in or boneless pork chops with water.

2.  Shake chops, 1 at a time, in freezer bag with coating mix.  Discard bag and any remaining mix after all chops are coated.

3.  Bake on ungreased or foil-lined rimmed baking sheet for 15 minutes (Do not cover or turn while baking).  Let stand 3 minutes before serving.

Makes seasoning for up to 16 pork chops
