Potluck Apple Snickers Salad Recipe

Looking for the ultimate crowd-pleasing dessert salad? This Potluck Apple Snickers Salad is a creamy, dreamy mix of tart apples, fluffy Cool Whip, tangy sour cream, and chopped Snickers bars. It tastes just like a caramel apple, but in an easy-to-make dessert salad form that’s perfect for parties, picnics, and potlucks!

I have had this recipe for years, but have never been able to bring myself to make it.  I mean, sour cream mixed with Cool-Whip?  It just didn’t sound very good.

Then I tried it when someone brought it to a potluck I was attending and I regretted all those years I lived without this heavenly combination of ingredients!

If you’ve ever been skeptical about combining sour cream and Cool Whip — don’t be! One bite of this sweet, creamy, and slightly tangy treat will change your mind forever.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed

  • 8 ounces sour cream

  • 6 apples, peeled and chopped (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great!)

  • 4 full-sized Snickers candy bars, chopped

Directions

  1. Mix it up:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the Cool Whip and sour cream until smooth.

  2. Add the goodies:
Stir in the chopped apples and Snickers pieces until everything is well coated.

  3. Chill and serve:
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight) before serving to let the flavors blend.

Makes: 16 (½-cup) servings

Tips

  • Use cold apples for a crisp texture.

  • Add a drizzle of caramel sauce on top before serving for extra indulgence.

  • Perfect for holidays, barbecues, and potlucks!
