Copycat Red Lobster Biscuit Recipe (Cheddar Bay Biscuits)

For me, the best part of dining at Red Lobster has always been the warm, cheesy garlic biscuits that come to the table. The good news? You don’t need the boxed mix to make them at home! This copycat Red Lobster Biscuit recipe is quick, easy, and just as delicious as the restaurant version.

I’ve been making these homemade biscuits for over 30 years (since my oldest daughter was born!), and they’re still a family favorite. They come together in minutes with simple pantry ingredients and bake up golden, soft, and buttery—just like the real thing.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Homemade Bisquick (or store-bought baking mix)

  • ⅔ cup milk

  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ¼ cup butter, melted

  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the baking mix, milk, and cheddar cheese. Stir just until a soft dough forms and all ingredients are incorporated.

  3. Drop the dough by spoonfuls (about 8 portions) onto an ungreased baking sheet.

  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.

  5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter and garlic powder. Brush over the warm biscuits before removing them from the baking sheet.

  6. Serve warm and enjoy that classic Red Lobster flavor at home!

Tips for the Best Copycat Red Lobster Biscuits

  • Use freshly shredded cheddar for the best melt and flavor.

  • Add a sprinkle of parsley to the butter topping for that signature restaurant look.

  • Serve these biscuits with seafood, soup, or salad—they go with everything!
