Homemade Frozen Chicken Nuggets (Make-Ahead & Freezer Friendly)

Skip the “mystery meat” nuggets at the store and make your own Homemade Frozen Chicken Nuggets with simple, real ingredients. These make-ahead chicken nuggets are crispy, flavorful, and perfect for quick lunches, after-school snacks, or easy weeknight dinners.Kids love them, and you’ll love knowing exactly what’s in them!

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into ½-inch strips

  • 2 cups Homemade Bisquick

  • 1 ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt

  • 1 ½ teaspoons paprika

  • 3 eggs, beaten

  • ½ cup butter (1 stick), melted

Instructions

Prepare the Nuggets

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl or gallon-size zip-top bag, combine the Homemade Bisquick, Parmesan, salt, and paprika.

  3. Dip each chicken strip into the beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly in the Bisquick mixture.

  4. Place coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle the melted butter over the top.

  5. Bake for 10 minutes, then allow the nuggets to cool completely.

Freeze the Nuggets

  1. Transfer cooled nuggets to a clean baking sheet in a single layer and freeze for 2 hours.

  2. Divide frozen nuggets evenly into three freezer bags. Store up to 6 months.


To Cook Frozen Chicken Nuggets

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.

  2. Arrange frozen nuggets on a baking sheet.

  3. Bake 12–14 minutes, flipping halfway through, until heated through and lightly crisp.
