1 packet (or 1 homemade recipe) onion soup mix

¾ cup bread crumbs

2 large eggs

¾ cup water

¼ cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon browning sauce (like Kitchen Bouquet)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Meatloaf

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, eggs, and water. Mix gently until just combined—don’t overmix.

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan.

Bake uncovered for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
Step 2: Make the Gravy from Pan Drippings

Remove the meatloaf from the pan and cover to keep warm. Strain the pan juices into a measuring cup. Skim off the fat, reserving 3 tablespoons. Add water if needed to make 2 cups of liquid.

In a saucepan, whisk the flour into the pan juices until smooth. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and stir in the browning sauce.
