Calzone Recipe |
I usually make these after we have spaghetti & meatballs, to use up any leftover meatballs and sauce we might have.
You can also substitute any pizza toppings you like for the meatballs.
Ingredients:
1 recipe pizza dough
10 cooked meatballs
1 cup prepared spaghetti sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz.)
1 teaspoon oil (olive or canola)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°. Grease a large baking sheet. Divide pizza dough in ½. Roll each ½ into a 12-inch circle. Place each rolled circle onto prepared baking sheet.
2. Place 5 meatballs on half of each piece of dough. Top each with ½ cup sauce and 1 cup cheese.
3. Fold dough in half, enclosing filling. Seal edges by pinching or with a fork. Brush each calzone with ½ teaspoon oil. Cut a slit in the top of each to vent.
4. Bake for 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cut each into 3 wedges.
