Double Chocolate Cupcakes
If you love chocolate, these Double Chocolate Cupcakes are pure bliss! Moist, rich, and packed with chocolate flavor inside and out, they’re the ultimate treat for any chocolate lover. Perfect for birthdays, parties, or whenever you crave something decadent, these cupcakes bake up beautifully and deliver a bakery-quality taste every time.
Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
½ cup + 2 tablespoons softened butter, divided
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
2 eggs
-
⅔ cup buttermilk (or ⅔ cup milk + 1 teaspoon vinegar)
-
2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
(or 6 tablespoons cocoa powder + 2 tablespoons melted butter) -
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1½ cups mini chocolate chips, divided
-
1½ cups confectioner’s sugar
-
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2½ tablespoons milk
Directions

Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a 24-cup muffin tin with paper liners.

Combine dry ingredients: Mix flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

Cream butter and sugar: Beat ½ cup butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.

Mix batter: Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk. Stir in melted chocolate and vanilla.

Fill cups: Spoon batter halfway into liners and sprinkle each with 2 teaspoons of mini chips.

Bake for 20 minutes or until tops are firm. Cool completely on a wire rack.

Make frosting: Combine powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth. Adjust consistency with more milk or sugar if needed.

Frost and finish: Spread frosting over cooled cupcakes and top each with 1 teaspoon of mini chocolate chips.
Makes 24 cupcakes.
Tip
Serve with a cold glass of milk — these cupcakes are extra chocolatey and irresistibly rich!
