Homemade Chocolate Pudding

Delicious and easy homemade chocolate pudding! Cooks in 10 minutes... practically an instant!


1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten


1.  Mix sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt in a 2-quart saucepan.  Gradually stir in milk.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.  Boil and stir 1 minute.

2.  Gradually stir at least 1/2 of the hot mixture into the egg yolks; stir back into the hot mixture in saucepan. Boil and stir 1 minute; remove from heat.

3.  Pour pudding into 1/2 cup capacity dessert dishes (or a 2-cup bowl).  Cover and chill for 1 hour to firm.
