Homemade Cream Soup Mix (Easy Substitute for Canned Cream Soups)

Skip the canned cream soups and make this simple Homemade Cream Soup Mix instead! It’s budget-friendly, easy to store, and works perfectly in casseroles, slow-cooker meals, and any recipe that calls for a can of cream soup. This DIY mix makes the equivalent of six full cans—ideal for meal prep and pantry stocking.


Ingredients for Cream Soup Mix

  • 1 cup powdered milk

  • ¾ cup cornstarch

  • ¼ cup instant chicken bouillon powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika


How to Make Homemade Cream Soup Mix

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

How to Substitute for a Can of Cream Soup

To replace 1 can of cream soup, whisk together:
